Sam and Davy sleep trainer clocks
Red means stay, green means go. Two-minute set-up, then it runs itself.
In short, how do I set up Sam or Davy?
Watch the quick-start video or read the manual. Set the current time, the bedtime and the okay-to-wake time once. From then on the eyes close every night and open every morning at the times you chose.
If the power is turned off, does the clock remember its settings?
Only if batteries are fitted. We recommend keeping four AA alkaline batteries in as a back-up so a power cut doesn't clear the settings.
How do I stop my child changing the settings?
The clock key-locks itself one minute after you stop pressing buttons, and immediately after you set a nap or wake-up time. To lock it yourself, hold the key-lock button for three seconds. A padlock symbol shows on the screen when it's locked.
The buttons aren't responding.
The key lock is on. Hold the key-lock button on the right for three seconds to unlock.
Can the alarm sound at a different time from the eyes opening?
Yes. When you set the wake-up time you set the sound alarm separately, so the eyes can open at 7:00 and the alarm sound at 7:15, or not at all.
Can I switch off the orange screen in the last half hour?
No. The orange countdown is fixed at thirty minutes before wake-up. If your child is asleep it won't wake them; if they're awake, it shows them the wait is nearly over.
How do I close the eyes early?
Hold the DOWN button for three seconds and the eyes close straight away.
Can I set a different wake-up time for weekends?
No. There is one wake-up time. Most families set it for the weekday time and let the clock run.
Is there a demo to show my child how it works?
Yes. In the settings menu there's a demo that runs the whole bedtime sequence in about twenty seconds.
How long do batteries last?
About four weeks with good alkaline batteries, the nightlight limited to five minutes and the lowest brightness. Longer nightlight settings drain them faster, so use the USB cable for everyday and batteries as back-up.
Where's the off switch for the nap timer?
There isn't one. You set the nap timer each time you use it and it ends on its own.
It's stuck on green, or just not behaving.
Set the wake-up time before bedtime rather than after. If it still misbehaves, press the tiny reset button on the bottom with a paperclip and set it up again. That fixes nearly everything.
What adapter should I use?
Any 5V, 1A USB adapter, like a standard phone charger.
